Meet Woody

Woody is Paul-Austin Sargent's loyal canine companion — and he's not just along for the ride. This plucky little dog is walking every single one of the 88 miles of the Jurassic Way, from Stamford in Lincolnshire all the way to Banbury in Oxfordshire.

While Paul-Austin is raising funds for community improvement projects across Banbury Grimsbury & Castle, Woody has his own fundraising page dedicated to a cause close to his heart — Dogs for Good.

Up to the Challenge?

Woody loves his creature comforts. Given the choice, he'd spend his days stretched out on the sofa, wrapped in a warm blanket, waiting for his next meal. So how on earth is he going to manage 88 miles?

The honest answer is: remarkably well. Because while Woody adores his home comforts, he also has an absolute passion for the outdoors — especially woodland and water. Put him on a forest trail with a stream nearby and he's in his element, bounding ahead with the oodles of energy.

He's not doing this for the glory. He's doing it because Paul-Austin is doing it — and wherever Paul-Austin goes, Woody goes too.

Every muddy paw print, every splash in a stream, every nap in a country pub — Woody is earning every bit of it. And when he finally trots back into Banbury on the 30th, he will absolutely have earned a very long lie-in on that sofa.

The Route

The Jurassic Way is an 88-mile long-distance trail tracing the limestone ridge from Stamford in Lincolnshire to Banbury in Oxfordshire, passing through some of England's most beautiful countryside — ancient woodland, rolling hills, historic villages, and the dramatic Northamptonshire uplands.
